MichaelMcGuire Would Like to Check-in
Who am I?
Automation expert inside a pharma software's documentation team. Loved Perl for years, but just started looking int wiki's to help move the Documentation team off proprietary, closed-source software. Initially trained as a tech writers, but haven't written a document in years. I love to mess around with Linux in my spare time (mainly Slackware, but have dabbled in Arch). Had an abortive run with
FreeBSD
What do I want?
write access to
SVN for the following branches:
wikiplugins
What can I do?
Languages: Perl,
JavaScript, HTML & CSS, XSLT & XML
Have automated various systems for Doc department at work through Perl scripts and larger programs (in Perl, VB6, Python). Extensive experience with CSS, HTML, XHTML, XML, and various technologies related to that.
Extensive training in writing, editing, and managing of Documentation (both print and online).
Why do I want to do it?
First, self-serving
I want to get the
CKEditorPlugin back available so we can use it for our new wiki at work (unit testing needs doing).
Second, I want to help out on the project. What I've seen about Foswiki I like. Anything I could do (however minor) would be an honor. I think wikis are the future of Documentation, and I think a project iike Foswiki would be a
perfect fit for a variety of reasons.
Third, (self-serving again), I want to build up my coding skills. I'm self-taught and want some experience and challenge. I love Perl, but I don't get the chance to use it enough at my job.
Other Notes
Topics I have contributed to
welcome Michael
