Who am I?

Hello,

my name is Robert Felber and I'm from Germany. I'm a 23 years old student of computer science. Unfortunately I have not that much experience already, but I'm motivated and currently working as a trainee at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig to change this :). I think that I'm a quite pleasant person who enjoys conversations, also I'm quite addicted to coffee which eases my frustration over unexpected bugs (most of the time). I hope that I can be of use for Foswiki. Greetz

What do I want?

write access to SVN for the following branches:

What can I do?

-theoretical knowledge (oh well..) -played around with Foswiki code locally already -young an fresh -contact with a wide variety of languages (got forced to learn haskell.. hopefully not crippled my mind with that) -communicative -careful -some smaller projects (use of svn, basic terminology, mechanics, not a total noob) -motivated

Why do I want to do it?

First: I am convinced that open source is the way to go. I want to try to contribute something, despite the respect/fear I have for the high quality standards. I think somewhere I have to start. Second: I'm currently a trainee and want to develop a solution for the Institute which in the end can be used by other people. Here is a short description of the problem:

- develop a LDAP GUI for user/data management - web based - decoupled access management from LDAP or a mapping (should not use LDAP ACL) - verificated contribution - outsource parts of the user management to the users (everyone can edit data where access is granted) - intuitive to use - easy to maintain

I thought Foswiki would be perfect for these requirements and the institute already uses it. Also I believe that this kind of problem is not so special and could also be of interest for others.
