Error 404 when publishing as pdf

When i set output format to file or flatfile everything works fine. If i set it to pdf or flatpdf i get

"404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

when i try to open the pdf file. What went wrong?
