How can I use dashes in topic names?

One of my old T(m)Wiki applications created topics with dashes in their name like yyyy-mm-nnn. On Foswiki my application breaks as I couldn't get Foswiki to create topicnames with dashes in them, even if I have checked the allow non-Wiki Word box.

So, how can I get this functionality back in Foswiki?

ps: I'm using [[][]] notation for linking, so I don't need/want WikiWords.

i created Sandbox.2009-07-06 by directly modifying the URL to include bin/edit. from that topic, i created Sandbox.2007-07-07 using the double bracket notation. i only see a problem with WebTopicCreator filtering out -'s. please file a bug for this.

and perhaps this was broken on the store level post 1.0.0?

WebTopicCreator uses Javascript to validate topic names, that's another issue. My problem was due to the restrictive default setting in TopicNameValidationPlugin which I had installed lately. So I consider my question answered.
