CroppingInThumbnails

Since upgrading from an older Twiki to Foswiki 1.0.6, the appearance of the galleries' thumbnails has changed from scaled down versions of the full original images, preserving the aspect ratio, to square crops of the original images. I realize this is probably a feature. Is there any way though to make the thumbnails show the complete image again, or else to have this behaviour made optional in future versions?
