This question about Missing functionality: Answered

displaying form field data in search results

For a knowledge management application I have created a form which get attached to a topic which describes the properties of document attached. THe the document to be searched is attached to the topic. For viewing I have used a table in template which uses the FORMFIELD macro to update the cells from form. THe page display and index of similar type of documents using search functionality look ok.

My problem is when I use the built in search of FOSwiki to search for part of description of document; it returns the correct results but the text under each search result shows the macro code and not the actual text in the form. Is there a way around this

The summary will by default use the topic text, not the form fields. You can create your own search output with FormattedSearch tokens. For instance by writing format="$formfield(Description)".
