This question about Installation of Foswiki: Needs followup in Tasks

Foswiki performance problem ?

Hi,

Recently I installed Foswiki 1.0 on a linux server and I got a performance issue.

In fact, it takes about 10 sec to load any page.

So, I would like to know what can I do to solve this performance problem.

Do I have to upgrade computer which contains Foswiki ?

  • Here is its current specifications:
      • Ubuntu 8.10
      • Celeron 1.8 Ghz
      • 768 mb ram
  • By the way, what is the minimum hardware requirement ?
Is it a configuration issue (Runtime engine = mod_perl)? If yes, could you correct config file in paste bin ?

You'll find my config file at the following link : http://pastebin.com/m565984f4

Thanks for your collaboration,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Take a look at working/tmp directory. It is probably loaded of session files. There is a bug in 1.0.0: old session files are not deleted. It's already fixed. Take a look at Tasks.Item873 and apply the patch (the link is at the bottom of the topic).

Also consider setting the {Sessions}{ExpireAfter} to a negative number (if it's a positive number Foswiki checks for expired sessions for each view) and add ticki_foswiki.pl to your cron.
