Install into directory other than "Foswiki" ?

I'd like to install FosWiki in a directory named "wiki", not "Foswiki". I can unpack the files into directory "wiki" OK, but immediately after doing that, if I browse

http://myserver/mypath/wiki/index.html

I get a 301 Moved Permanently response, directing to

http://myserver/mypath/Foswiki/bin/view/INSTALL.html

which of course doesn't exist. I can't see for the life of me what the mechanism is, since there don't appear to be any .httpd files controlling this. So two questions:

1. Is it possible to install to some other path than Foswiki?

2. What is the mechanism that causes the 301 Moved Permanently?

Thanks!

How did you build your Apache configuration? Foswiki definitely can be installed into any directory - there is no requirement for a Foswiki directory. Just a guess that this is something in the apache configuration.

Ack- this was a self-inflicted wound. I had done a trial install of Foswiki over a year ago, and just recently decided to start over. I forgot that I had added a "redirect" directive in the .htaccess file in my root directory as part of the original project, and of course for some reason that was the one place, out of dozens, where I didn't look.

Thanks for your prompt response - I realized that you were right and that I had better look more closely at the Apache config files.
