the documentation suggests that the A column should extend downward through the rows.
This is currently not working.
Instead, the second and third columns shift left and the 3rd column is empty.

This has been discussed in
Item5865. In short: it is not possible. What
does look like a bug is
Item10016 that does not render rowspans with a multirow header (passing param
headerrows
).
And yes, we should improve the documentation on this as you suggested in
Item5864.
