in the logs, and a 500 on each page view.

Strangely, it wasn't doing it until I had some webs loaded.

The here at ... message occurs reliably after bulk-loading webs. Restarting apache fixes it.

can't re-produce, so will need a stack trace, or some other issue to trigger it

I suspect it's an fcgid thing (if you haven't tried it)
