A "too much recursion" error is thrown by foswiki when the "icon" macro is used to format results of a query returning large number of results. The issue occured when the number of results were approximately 1500 but worked fine when query was tweaked to return around 1000 results. The query can be anything like this-

format="||$percentICON
{alert}$percent|
$percentTopic$percent"}%
