  • you will have to hit the magnifier icon next to the search box to start the search; DONE
  • the magnifier button should not be part of the same button group "Study Web Server" - "Show expert options" - "Save" as they are totally unrelated to "search" DONE
  • listing search results inside the header section does not work out DONE
  • searching for "login" returns no resultDONE
  • search results don't highlight any click trail or something similar; results don't make sense to me at first
  • I can't click on search results to get to the actual config item found

You have to click the little magnifying glass icon to the right of the search box. Enter is not active.

This seems to be true throughout configure .. to change a field and get it checked, you can't just hit enter, you make the change, and then click outside the field to get the checker to run. I'm forever hitting enter, and the realizing I have to tab or click outside for results. However since some fields support newline, it can't be universal.

Well for non-textareas supporting newline should be not too far-fetched. In any case hitting enter in the search box should be supported.

I totally missed the magnifier button. I probably didn't recognized the magnifying glass next to "Study Web Server" - "Show expert options" - "Save" as being connected to the search box for the same reason those other boxes are not related to it either.

I've renamed this item and gathered more oddities in "search". I raised this item to urgent to block the release. Either "search" has to be fixed or disabled/removed before releasing it.

For goodness sakes, just fix the blessed thing. It's not beyond your abilities to add an onchange handler to the search box.

-- CrawfordCurrie - 12 Nov 2014

Setting this to confirmed / enhancement. No need for this to be blocking.

-- GeorgeClark - 17 Nov 2014

Closing this. All appear to have been addressed, except for the "click on search results to navigate to the element". That can go as a future enhancement. Need to close tasks for 1.2 release.
