If I create a
WikiWord web, then uses of that
WikiWord show up in view as though the
WikiWord does not exist.
however, clicking the questionmark, edits
WikiWord.WebHome
personally, i'd rather that the
WikiWord instances link to the
WebHome of the sub web.
the use case I have, is I created a
Main.SvenDowideit
web, and moved my user information to
Main.SvenDowideit.WebHome
.

This seems to be partially fixed on release11 branch. It no longer edits the
WebHome topic, but creates a topic named
WikiWord in the
WikiWord web.
Can this be No Action'd or does it need a feature proposal to change linking or ???

that sounds worse!
are you saying that if I type
WikiWord
in the Main web somewhere, it will then link to
WikiWord.WikiWord
if there is a web called
WikiWord
?
I'd call that a big old bug!

No. Starting in the parent web. I recreated locally on my Sandbox...
SubWeb in a topic in Sandbox |
Initially renders as a missing link |
Create Web Sandbox/SubWeb |
SubWeb topic still is a missing topic |
Click SubWeb? link in Sandbox |
Edits and creates a Topic SubWeb in Sandbox along side the Sandbox/SubWeb web |
Visit Sandbox/SubWeb.WebHome |
works |
Create topic Sandbox/SubWeb.TestTopic with wikiwordk SubWeb |
Renders as SubWeb? missing link |
Click and create Sandbox/SubWeb.SubWeb topic ... |
Creates a Sandbox/Subweb.SubWeb topic in the Sandbox/SubWeb web |
... and so on - this works similarly in the SubWeb web. |
My head hurts trying to write all that... So a Web that is a
WikiWord can exist along side a Topic of the same name, and Topic links remain "in-web" and don't cross web/subweb boundaries unless explicitly linked. I believe that this is how we want it to work. To work any other way I believe would require a feature proposal.
Can we close this? or can you submit a test case that shows where it goes wrong?
