I wondered why my System.WebSearch (and WebSearchAdvanced too) looks so curious... The reason: I found that e.g. the input fields are supplied with class="twikiInputField"...

<input type="text" class="twikiInputField"

In the documentation of TagsPlugin is not mentioned that System.WebSearch and System.WebSearchAdvanced are overwritten with the files provided with this plugin. The search help file (which is the old one) does not mention the search for tags...

What if the plugin is not activated in configure? The WebSearch page shows already the possibility to search in tags...

If I update foswiki, this files are probably overwritten...

I mean, it is a very good idea to offer a tags search if the plugin is activated and ready. But the implications of updates and activation seems to be extensive. A few words in the documentation would help.

both good points, updated to remove the tmwiki bits, and removed the search topics for now - it needs to be done properly :/ (ie, by making the core topics intelligent.

yes, e.g. by expanding the search possibilities if there are activated plugin search extensions...

Installation of the update of TagsPlugin on Ubuntu made my System.WebSearch and System.WebSearchAdvanced disappear from the file system. Both files I had restored from the Foswiki installation package before, I will do it a second time.

I think Oliver's doing some fine work improving TagsPlugin - things should be different now/soon

I worked on the TagsPlugin backend, added some basic core functions and prepared it to speak via REST handlers (see Tasks.Item1918). Currently I'm working on a jquery frontend, which I will make publicly available, if I find another sponsor. wink Maybe later on I will touch the basic UI and do some det(w)oxification, if necessary.
