Item404: Remaining Tasks for our first release

A lot of customers keep asking me, when we will release the first version of Foswiki. I am short of an answer right now. I would appreciate a wiki page with a description of the remaining steps, where fulfilled steps could be marked, so that customers and marketing people can understand what is still missing for our first release.

I understand your question.

It is ready when it is ready is the arrogant sounding initial answer. But it just means that we do not release until the product is stable.

So whatever we promise - can move by a month.

But what is missing is

- Close all urgent bugs - Complete rebranding

It is those two and only those two.

And you find the urgent release blockers here.

What you can do is mainly. Install it. Test it. Report bugs.

And if you can program. Fix the open bugs.

The good news is that trunk now seems very stable. I am in good hope. Only concern is the rebranding and having enough working extensions to make the Foswiki product interesting.

If Foswiki is only core and defaults and my MeetingBingoPlugin then it is not interesting. You need to have the best business extensions available working stable also.

I am testing a suite of those I find essential. My only worry is if I am allowed to rebrand them and make them available in clean Foswiki versions.
