In the version of TWiki currently running on twiki.org, proportional font is the default for Edit mode.
Given tables, bullets, ordered loists, and other space-sensitive aspects of TWiki, fixed-width font should be the default.
Also, making this worse, the fixed-width and proportional "i" buttons are no longer present in the lower right corner of the editing window. So changing TO fixed width font is might nigh impossible.
I hope this is an accident of the installation in TWiki.org but would hate to upgrade to TWiki 4.2 and discover that it's now difficult to get fixed-wirth font. (I've been telling a lot of people about that courier "i" button.)
(I know I can set EDITBOXSTYLE but the point is to bring back the missing Ease of Use.)

Ehhmm!
I think you are a little fast here
If you wysiwyg edit then yes, the font is proportional but so it the display afterwards. The font matches what you get. What you see is what you get. This is correct.
If you Raw Edit - which is the old edit mode then you have your fixed and proportional buttons just like always.
I must admit that I miss the feature in the pickaxe mode (when you start in Wysiwyg and then hit the pickaxe).
But when you upgrade you do not loose the old feature. It is still there. it is just that the Wysiwyg button became "Edit" and Edit became "Edit Raw".
Vicky can you confirm that I understood your report right?
If you want to raise this as a pickaxe issue then we can keep this bug as an enhancement bug. But as I understand your report this is a "No Action" bug.

No feedback. Here or on foswiki.org.
So I assume it was an enhancement request
