defaultpage attribute does not work at all afaict. I tried both defining it via a form element and defining a DEFAULTPAGE setting. Neither had any affect.

In Item2174, you mention the possibility of creating a topic called Index and this would create an index.html file. While this is true, it is not as flexible and does not match what's in the docs.

You do realise that this setting is specific to ftp output? AFAICT they both work as documented when generating ftp output.

-- CrawfordCurrie - 27 Oct 2008

You're right. I assumed this also applied to the file output option. I would think that whenever one is producing output as html files, you would want option to create index.html file for the output directory.

Lynwood, I assume this is closed from what I understand of http://develop.twiki.org/~twiki4/cgi-bin/view/Bugs/Item6094 ?

Yes, that's right and I'm including our comments from that discussion above. However, we also discussed it later and agreed that this setting is needed even if ftp is not selected as output. Looking at the checkin listed in that bug topic, it appears that Crawford implemented this.
