In WYSIWYG mode, it's possible to keep HTML in tact using
sticky
. This is particularly handy when switching between WYSIWYG and raw modes. However, It's not quite practical for user may not know about
sticky
nor remember to use it.
I noticed that
a
elements do not get stripped, but
div
and
span
is stripped off when it doesn't have
sticky
wrapped. With my poor Perl skills, I've tried to dig in
Plugins/WysiwygPlugin/HTML2TML.pm
on what are the whitelisted elements. Is there any particular reason for not keeping all HTML tags in place in TML mode? Is there a new approach coming up?
HTML is converted to TML following an "as much as possible" approach. Since DIV and SPAN have no analog in TML, they are removed.
I wasn't planning any change to this approach. In fact, if I do anything it will be to remove TML as a storage representation completely and replace it with something that is capable to supporting all of HTML's syntax.
This isn't really a task, more a support question, so closing it.
