cos right now, the notify mailes for the Support and Tasks web aren't showing the formfield based title / summary

i'm wondering if we can detect that its an AUTOINC topic, and thus display the first formfield on the same line

so you'd see

Item1234 - add a way for MailerContrib to add better topic title's for AUTOINC topics

This would really be a nice feature! Maybe by introducing a new hiddeen preference setting (in a META field) e.g.
META:PREFERENCE{name="NOTIFYHEADLINE" title="NOTIFYHEADLINE" type="Set" value="$formfield(Summary)"}

Which is for sure messy right now, but it's just to give you a rough idea of what I mean... At least it would enable the user to define custom headlines for the notifications.

Rather than on a topic basis, I'm thinking of to do something like the VIEWTEMPLATE / autoviewplugin system for tabular results - that way WebSearch and WebChanges and MailContrib etc all can have form specific rendering.... I guess its time for me to make a feature req..

-- SvenDowideit - 09 Sep 2009

Just another idea: How about using DBCachePlugin's TOPICTITLE variable for this job?

But I guess you are right: the VIEWTEMPLATE way is much more convenient...

I think this is adequately covered by Item813
