- BUG: In Community web, when searching IRC, I am lead to IrcCloak. That is where Jump + Search is not working. Proposal: lead a search to a search results page, and list the topic name hits at the top, separated from the rest of the list. -- ArthurClemens - 05 Nov 2008 - 00:34
The distinction between a topic search and a content search is too artificial. Most search engines just do a search for a match on any of the properties
of a page, be it within the content or its name. The
kind of hit, that is
where it has been found, might influence search order. Finding a topic search hit
might be more
relevant than finding the same string down at the bottom of the content. However, that's beyond the scope of NatSearch.
I simplified NatSearch so that a jump is only made when the topic as written in the search string really does exist. If not, a combined topic+content search
is done. I am aware that simple topic only search is faster than a content search, but I think it is better to implement a more search-engine like behavior.
