I have found that setting either HEADLINESPLUGIN_REFRESH or refresh="" to 0 does not gives the desired effect described in documentation: disable caching . Any other value works. It turns out that the expression "0 || 60" will always, logically, return 60.

please test the updated version i've posted at Extensions/Testing/HeadlinesPlugin and let me know how it goes. it should fix the variables HEADLINESPLUGIN_REFRESH, HEADLINESPLUGIN_LIMIT, and HEADLINESPLUGIN_USERAGENTTIMEOUT. thanks!

-- WillNorris - 21 Mar 2010

Yes, this fix corrects the problems. Works as expected now. Thanks!

Looks like you can release this as final fix, Will
