First, congratulations on the 1.1 release.
Two related suggestions for the web presence:
- It would be good if the website displayed the foswiki version (suggest up next to the logo) so that visitors knew what is behind what they are viewing. Currently, we have pages describing new features displayed by an engine that doesn't support them!
- Since the website is always behind development (and the release - which it shouldn't be), why not have a tab for "view with", so it's easy to see what it would look like with V.next, Trunk, etc. A list of links with the appropriate caveats should be simple to do, something like:
View this web with:
I think this would engage visitors, make it easy to get early feedback, and even encourage our webmasters to adopt our releases more quickly...
There might be some challeges if topics were saved with unstable versions - but access controls could solve that. And even trunk isn't
that unstable... In any case, something like this seems worth considering.

These are good points, but in addition I'd like to see us be more aggressive in moving foswiki.org to the beta release. One of our release requirements should be that f.o has been successfully migrated to the beta release. I realize it's more work for the web team, but it also shows us
eating our own dog food.
