which effectivly means the unit tests are not cleaning up after thenselves.

i'm presuming the right thing to do is for the logs to be written elsewhere when running unit tests.

I suspect that this is configuration related. I've observed this in the past, but can't recreate it now. Marking confirmed, but this needs more analysis and a reliable recreation.
