I was not able to find an option to prevent WYSIWYG from taking the focus and thereby jumping to it within the webpage. This can be pretty annoying if there is only a small free text part on the page and lots of fields and data above.

Is there an option and i overlooked it or is there none jet?

Which browser are you using? Doesn't seem to happen on FF3.6. Are you using any non-standard TINYMCEPLUGIN_INIT?

We have to use IE8 on work. The Wysiwyg is the default. For developing purposes they were so generous to allow me a firefox portable on my computer at work, so i will try on monday weather it's a browser related problem or not but sadly can't do that today.

Thanks for looking into it. Have a nice weekend, till monday.

Congeneric to this: when you have very few screen estate (like on netbooks), tinymce always jumps to the very end of the page, even "hiding away" the input field if there is a larger form attached.

This only happens in FF (osx and win), but not in Chrome or IE. Foswiki 1.0.9 was fine.

Sorry, going to test it on monday, had more pressing matters this week. But i can already say that the screenresolution is 1280x1024 and the browser is ie8. But i agree that it was not the case in 1.0.9 as far as i can remember! More feedback on monday!

imo the an urgent variation Oliver mentioned should be taken up for 1.1.4

it seems that tinymce edit puts the focus at the bottom of the edit page - when you edit your user topic on 1.1.4, you see the bottom of the dataform and the mouse and kb focus is somewhere un-functioning.

this is happening to me on firefox on linux, and Micha has reproduced it and it does not happen in the default skin - though that does not seem to be setting focus...

Enrik's issue is a variation of this due to the dataform edit being above the textarea - which shows that the focus should not automatically be the textarea, but rather the top input box...

Deferring this to 1.2

-- GeorgeClark - 01 Apr 2012

As far as I get the report, the issue was that editing a topic will focus the wysiwyg edit area, which seem to be an undesirable behavior.

I can't reproduce this anymore.

If this bug is still present, please reopen this task and describe in full detail the exact actions how to reproduce this error.
