We are trying to upgrade the Solr-Plugin from Version 1.10 to version 2.0.
Upgrading Solr on the Server was no problem. But when wy try to render the SERP, we only get an empty Page and strange foot-note Links in the footer of the Page. (See the Attachment)
We use Solr for The Search-Page and for the Recent-Changes, which work fine on version 1.10.
We run foswiki 1.1.5 and have the latest Jquery-Plugin installed (we had the same effect with an older JQuery-Plugin as well, though). The Indexer works and it seems, all Topics have been indexed well.
Was there a significant change in how
SolrPlugin is implemented (Template-wise)?
Any Help highly appreciated.
Regards,
Oliver

Yes templates have changed. Support for the non-ajaxed search template has been removed.
Which page and what view template are you using?
Which skin are you using?
If you are using a custom skin, try a vanilla
PatternSkin or
NatSkin first.

We use a modified
PatternSkin. With the "old" version of
SolrPlugin, we had also a slightly modified Solr-Base View-Template.

These modifications most probably don't match the new SolrSearchBaseTemplate. Please try to use the original one first.

OK. I've overwritten every File with the ones from the Plugin and changed the needed Settings inside
LocalSite.cfg.
When I surf to
SolrSearch, my result looks like this:
And the footer looks like before (see the other attachment)

ssl_error.log only shows this error:
[Thu Aug 15 09:56:45 2013] [error] [client 129.129.194.131] [Thu Aug 15 09:56:45 2013] rest: Warning: Use of "shift" without parentheses is ambiguous at /foswiki115_solr/lib/Foswiki/Plugins/SolrPlugin/Search.pm line 595.

Please disable
PiwikPlugin. It seems your perl doesn't like it.
There seem to be other plugins and/or modifications involved that wreck the template: there's no "Notes" anywhere in the
SolrPlugin. Nor can I imagine what would generate these numbers. It might also help to attach the HTML sources of System.SolrSearch as generated by your foswiki. There should be a bunch of javascript errors too. Send them over.

OK. It was the
FootnotePlugin. After disabling it, the Page renders correct. Re-installed the latest version, but it still crashes the Search-View. We will disable the Plugin for the Search-Page for now.
Thanks for your Help.

FootnotePlugin is know to break other plugins as well, like
EditChapterPlugin as far as I remember.
