Item8584: encoding breaks search if looking for somthing with escaped chars

searches for !shampoo, but the edit box is now missing the !

I think that Arthur has fixed this last night.

The correct search format is -shampoo, not !shampoo. The minus operator I have fixed.

no, no, you fixed !shampoo - not in the -shampoo sense, but in that the edit box now contains the ! - whereas before the encoding changes you made, it was dropped.
